This accreditation has been developed to ensure that supervisors and planners who require an awareness of ladders and poles safety are accredited to Industry and National Occupational Standard (NOS). This accreditation is aimed at supervisors and planners working in a telecommunications environment. This accreditation does not cover roof top working. The purpose of this accreditation guide is to also set out the quality assurance arrangements for the assessment and verification of Smart Awards telecommunications programmers and to provide centres with a consistent approach to assessment.
This accreditation, SA001A, covers three modules: Ladder safety, Pole checking and climbing & Joint user poles
Learners that successfully complete all of the necessary units will be awarded a full accreditation certificate Overhead Safety Awareness.
This course is available to anyone over the age of 16. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. Centres must ensure potential learners suitability for this course and identify any specific needs/ reasonable adjustments that may be required.
