Course Aim

The Highfield Level 3 Award in First Aid Response (RQF) has been designed to give designated first aiders a more comprehensive understanding of first aid, alongside an understanding of the importance of medical and environmental intelligence when dealing with a range of casualties.

Course Overview

This qualification will help learners identify risks within their place of work and research measures to support these risks within their surrounding environment. It will support first aiders for 3 years, after which they will need to retake the course. An annual refresher is also recommended.

Topics covered:

  • These include the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Being able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  • Being able to manage a casualty with external bleeding
  • Being able to manage a casualty with a minor injury
  • Understand how the environment can impact on the provision of first aid
  • How to support a variety of casualties and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator

Accreditation

Delegates successfully completing the course will be awarded a Highfield approved ATS Group Certificate detailing Level 3 Award in First Aid Response (RQF).
