Course Aim

The Highfield Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) has been written for learners wishing to become first aiders in their place of work, and covers the vital skills necessary to provide prompt and effective first aid.

Course Overview

This course ensures that delegates are approved to deliver first aid for 3 years, after which they will need to retake the course.

The topics include:

  • Roles and responsibilities of the first aider
  • How to assess an incident
  • Recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness
  • First aid skills in CPR and use of an AED
  • Assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness such as chest injuries, spinal injuries and anaphylaxis

Accreditation

Delegates successfully completing the course will be awarded a Highfield Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (RQF).
